When considering applying for credit cards, do the research and find out what they offer, besides the perks.
Just like people, no two credit cards are alike. That's because everyone has different finances and different circumstances. By simply logging onto the Internet and typing 'Credit Cards' into any search engine, you can instantly access endless amounts of information about credit card companies, their benefits, and even their applications.
As we mentioned earlier, by simply logging onto the Internet and typing 'credit cards,' you can instantly access some of the websites for household names, like Visa, MasterCard, and, of course, Discover. No annual fees, cashback bonuses, frequent-flyer miles, etc. The benefits are endless. Every company tries to outdo the competition with more and more perks.
Remember, however, that when debating between two credit cards, you shouldn't base your judgement solely on the benefits that the card provides. Always take into consideration the things that irresponsible people overlook, like interest rates, nuisance fee policies, and limits. There is much more to credit cards than just frequent-flyer miles. We don't want to have to coach you through some debt consolidation because you were simply shopping for perks. Don't trust yourself? Then maybe you should stick to debit cards.
Whether it is platinum, titanium, or adamantium, you must always choose your credit cards wisely. Don't fall prey to introductory interest rates and 0% APR* (notice the asterisk, yeah, they do that a lot). From MasterCards and American Express cards to Discover cards, and every card in between, don't be sold strictly on the privileges offering instant gratification. Shop around. Do the research. Keep your eyes and ears open. And ask around. You would be surprised how effective and important word-of-mouth can be. Would you trust a credit card company that ripped off a family member? Precisely! Do the research and you can expect to be truly rewarded.
And, while you're at it, why not think about gift cards for any occasion?
